Anyone who cooks a lot will tell you that two saucepans are just not enough. That's what I had, before I got this 3-piece set. Now I have FIVE! (Yes. I cook a lot.)This is a good basic set. The pans are well made of quality stainless steel. They feel a little light. There is no thick plate in the bottom. The handles are made with the old fashioned 'Bakelite' material, fairly impervious to heat. But, I would not recommend using them in the oven, for anything over 'keep warm' temps. The vented, tempered glass lids fit perfectly. Never use more than medium heat on your stove top.The lid handles are of the same material as the pan handles. But, a little thin around the edges. So, as you attach the handles to the lids, be careful not to tighten them too much, to prevent cracking. The hardware includes the appropriate washers and a silicone gasket, to help prevent any fracturing of the glass.I have been using these pans for a couple of weeks now. They work very well and clean up very easily. Good purchase.
